Dear Cowell,

I have consulted the Ecclesiastical and Masonic

authorities here on the subject of the two trowels which

you mention in your letter of 3rd March and in both cases

the offer is very gladly accepted.

The exact designation of those concerned is:-

(a) The Bishop of Hong Kong (he is acting as Dean

in addition at present), and

(b) The District (not Provincial) Grand Master for

Hong Kong and South China.

I will of course gladly undertake safe delivery

if it is more convenient to send the trowels in a single

package.

H. R. Cowell, Esq., C.M.G.,

Colonial Office,

London.

Yours sincerely,

N.L. Smith.
